ProQA v5.1.1.42 Maintenance Release

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAEDTM) and Priority Dispatch® are pleased to release ProQA® v5.1.1.42 Maintenance Release with IAED protocol updates to MPDS® 13.3.249 (9/28/2021), FPDS® 7.1.136 (10/1/2021), and PPDS® 6.4.113 (9/28/2021), as well as software enhancements. We'll walk you through some key changes below.

ProQA v5.1.1.42 Release Video

FOREIGN LANGUAGE INFORMATION:

This initial release is for English-only users with a foreign language release to follow in two weeks. We recommend that bilingual agencies perform one update after foreign languages have been released to ensure full functionality in all supported languages.

Medical 13.3.249 (9/28/2021) UPDATE

CASE ENTRY

  • A new ECHO Fast Track “1st Party OBVIOUS EXTREME RESPIRATORY DISTRESS” and a related definition were added.

PROTOCOL 2: Allergies (Reactions) / Envenomations (Stings, Bites)

  • A new answer choice, Sub-Chief Complaint, and PDI for asymptomatic allergic reaction concerns were added.

PROTOCOL 23: Overdose / Poisoning (Ingestion)

  • The last sentence in the Poison Control Referral PDI was changed to better align with agencies’ Poison Control practices.

CASE EXIT PANEL X-13

  • The instructions for cooling burns were changed to reflect the evolving international burn treatment guidelines.

Fire 7.1.136 (10/1/2021) UPDATE

PROTOCOL 53: Service Call

  • Key Question sequences for Locked in vehicle—for both (person) and (animal)—were adjusted to best determine if people or animals are in distress, sick, or injured.

PROTOCOL 60: Gas Leak / Gas Odor (Natural and LP Gases)

  • New Key Questions and instructions were added for callers inside the building or reporting from a landline to provide for increased caller and bystander safety.

PROTOCOL 77: Traffic Collision / Transportation Incident

  • The PDIs were changed to add additional layers of safety in the scenario where downed power lines are involved in a vehicle collision.

PROTOCOL 81: Sinking Vehicle / Vehicle in Floodwater

  • The send point for Determinant Codes 81-C-1 and 81-C-2 was moved from the end of Key Questions to earlier in the sequence.

Police 6.4.113 (9/28/2021) UPDATE

CASE ENTRY

  • A new Additional Information section “OMEGA Coding Designation” was added.

PROTOCOL 110: Burglary (Break-and-Enter) / Home Invasion

  • If qualified, the instruction “Do not enter the building. Wait at a safe location” is displayed earlier, in Key Questions, after the send point.

PROTOCOL 131: Traffic / Transportation Incident (Crash)

  • The send points for BRAVO-level Determinant Codes were adjusted to account for additional factors that may be present on scene of a traffic incident.

PANELS C-2 AND C-5

  • Comment boxes allowing EPDs to enter and send updated responder information were added.
