SPECIAL LANGUAGE INFORMATION:
This initial ProQA v5.1.1.51 release, including FPDS v8.0 and all associated materials, is for English-only users at this time. All other languages for ProQA v5.1.1.51 will be released on December 19, 2024, excluding FPDS v8.0.
Free-text boxes now pop up for many Key Question answer choices to record additional critical information for responding units.
A new set of Pre-Arrival Instructions guide comprehensive medical assessment and treatment within the Fire/Rescue discipline.
A new set of Pre-Arrival Instructions for a 1st party caller inside a vehicle on fire has been added. DLS Links to Protocol V are available on Protocols 71 and 77.
The Sinking Vehicle and Vehicle in Floodwater instructions have been extensively updated to include instructions on escaping through a sunroof and breaking a window with a seatbelt clip.
A new Rule and Axiom have been added about administering Narcan if drug overdose is suspected for any reason, even if the caller is hesitant to offer the information. This will give EMDs the latitude they need to intervene with life-saving instructions when narcotic overdose is probable.
Protocol 24 and the related Protocols F and M have undergone extensive revisions, including new and updated Determinant Codes, new suffixes, and new Pre-Arrival Instruction panels and pathways due to new definitions for FULL TERM, LATE PRETERM, EARLY PRETERM, and EXTREME PRETERM pregnancies. This will enable not only more specific neonatal patient care, but also fine-tuned responses based on gestation.
Protocol 22 was substantially modified to better align with the coding and advice provided in the FPDS, including new Key Questions, Determinant Codes, suffixes, and PDIs to reflect the type of incident, level of injury, and number of people trapped or injured. Also added was Protocol E: Person Trapped in Vehicle Trunk which will handle both 1st and 2nd party caller situations.
Additional blue operator questions have been added to various protocols to identify specific body areas for responders so they will be better prepared to assist patients on scene. These new questions generate answer choices that can be relayed to responders to provide this user-requested specificity.
Changes have been made to Key Questions "Ø Select the caller party" and "Are you at that location now?" throughout Police v7 based on incident type. "Ø Select the caller party" and its menu options of 2nd party, 3rd party, victim, and suspect have been removed from incidents not involving crimes of property or persons.
Changes have been made to better handle accelerator stuck incidents, including a new Determinant Code, changes to Key Question sequences, and a new Post-Dispatch Instruction.
Several updates were made to better handle hazardous roadways, including a new definition, new and updated Post-Dispatch Instructions, and new Critical EPD Information.
The Sinking Vehicle and Vehicle in Floodwater instructions have been extensively updated to include instructions on escaping through a sunroof and how to break a window with a seatbelt clip.
Please don't wait to upgrade to FPDS v8.0. Make sure your community is getting the ultimate modern, responsive care they need.
We're here to help you every step of the way.
Sincerely,
The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch and Priority Dispatch Corp.
