ProQA v5.1.1.43 Maintenance Release

(No changes in Response Determinant Codes or CAD Response Tables)

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED™) and Priority Dispatch® are pleased to release ProQA® v5.1.1.43 Maintenance Release with IAED protocol updates to Medical 13.3.259 (12/2/2021), Fire 7.1.141 (12/13/2021), and Police 6.4.125 (12/6/2021), as well as software enhancements. We'll walk you through some key changes below.

ProQA v5.1.1.43 Release Video

FOREIGN LANGUAGE INFORMATION:

This initial release is for English-only users, with a foreign language release to follow in two weeks. We recommend that bilingual agencies perform one update after foreign languages have been released to ensure full functionality in all supported languages.

Medical 13.3.259 (12/2/2021) UPDATE

EARLY PAI TARGET TOOL

  • The first button in the right-hand column was changed to “Person on Fire” and includes the same instructions as the “Person on Fire” Case Entry PDI.
  • The third button in the right-hand column was changed to “External SERIOUS Hemorrhage/Amputation,” with new instructions added and only the “Return to Case Entry” pathway link remaining.

BREATHING VERIFICATION DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

  • The opening script for the Breathing Verification Diagnostic Tool was modified to check for effective breathing by instructing the caller to watch for the patient's chest to rise.

PROTOCOLS 6, 10 & 19

  • A new rule was added: “Use of the Aspirin Diagnostic & Instruction Tool may be considered when a patient reported to be not alert is known to be awake, talking, and responding (functionally alert). Sips of water should only be provided upon patient request.”

Fire 7.1.141 (12/13/2021) UPDATE

PROTOCOL 51: AIRCRAFT EMERGENCY

  • The Burn Treatment DLS Link has been added between the Control Bleeding and Amputation DLS Links.

PROTOCOL 69: STRUCTURE FIRE

  • Several changes were made to the “Garage fire” Key Question sequence and the related “LARGE" and “SMALL NON-DWELLING building/structure” Determinant Codes to ensure consistent coding.

PROTOCOL 78: BACKCOUNTRY RESCUE

  • A new Jurisdictionally Approved Question was added: “What is the approximate weight of the person who needs to be rescued?”

Police 6.4.125 (12/6/2021) UPDATE

GLOBAL

  • A new answer choice “N/A – Suspect/Person/Subject works at location” was added to the Key Question “How did s/he arrive?” This answer choice has a KQAI (Key Question Answer Importance) value of 2 – High Importance.

PROTOCOL 123: MISSING/RUNAWAY/FOUND PERSON

  • Five Key Questions were assigned the Jurisdictionally Approved Question (JAQ) status, including “Does s/he have any trackable technology like a cell phone, tablet, or GPS with her/him?”

PROTOCOL 131: TRAFFIC/TRANSPORTATION INCIDENT (CRASH)

  • The answer choice “Just happened (minutes ago):” for the Key Question “When did this happen/How many minutes ago did this happen?” was changed to “Just happened,” and the comment box popup was removed.
