ProQA v5.1.1.45 Maintenance Release

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED™) and Priority Dispatch® are pleased to present the revised Protocol 25 with this ProQA v5.1.1.45 Maintenance Release. With mental health calls reaching critical levels, the complete reworking of Protocol 25 has been a top priority for us. Even its title has changed.

Protocol 25: Psychiatric/Mental Health Conditions/Suicide Attempt/ Abnormal Behavior

Look for new and updated Determinant Codes; new Suffixes; new, reordered, and updated Key Questions; new answer choices; new Definitions; a new Special Definition; new and updated PDIs; a new CEI; and new and updated Rules and Axioms. These changes will require agencies to update their Response Configuration, Restricted Settings, and Special Definitions in the ProQA Admin Utility.

This release also contains PPDS v7.0, the most flexible, accurate, and locally responsive police dispatching protocol in law enforcement. PPDS v7.0 was released October 11, and is also available, along with release documents, at the links below.

ProQA v5.1.1.45 Release Video

FOREIGN LANGUAGE INFORMATION:

This initial release is for English-only users, with a foreign language release to follow in two weeks. We recommend that bilingual agencies perform one update after foreign languages have been released to ensure full functionality in all supported languages.

MEDICAL v13.3.373 (10/12/2022)

Early Target Tool & Case Exit

New instructions for “uncontrolled, catastrophic hemorrhage from neck” were added to Panels X-5 and X-5b.

Case Entry

The GENERALIZED seizure rule has been changed to read, "When the complaint description strongly suggests GENERALIZED seizure, go to Protocol 12 regardless of consciousness and breathing status. If the scenario is atypical of GENERALIZED seizure, and is more typical of sudden cardiac arrest, go to Protocol 9."

Protocol 25:

Psychiatric/Mental Health Conditions/Suicide Attempt/Abnormal Behavior As above, Protocol 25 has been significantly revised, requiring agencies to update their Response Configuration, Restricted Settings, and Special Definitions in the ProQA Admin Utility.

Protocol 38: Advanced SEND (Medical Miranda)

A new Sub-CC “Traffic/Transportation incident” for Protocol 38: Advanced SEND (Medical Miranda) was added in Case Entry along with the following new suffixes:

  • T = Traffic/Transportation incident
  • X = Traffic/Transportation incident (HOT response requested)
  • Y = Traffic/Transportation incident (COLD response requested)

FIRE v7.1.210 (10/12/2022) UPDATE

Case Entry

  • A new Case Entry AI Rule 1 stating that PAIs should not be delayed while trying to obtain an exact location has replaced the previous Rule 1 about sinking vehicles.
  • A new Case Entry AI Rule 3 has been added about the need to move quickly from verifying a location to critical safety instructions that must be provided.

POLICE 6.4.141 (9/2/2022)

Protocol 131: Traffic/Transportation Incident (Crash)

  • The answer choice “Just happened (minutes ago):” was added to the Key Question “When did this happen/How many minutes ago did this happen?”

Protocol 135: Weapons/Firearms

Two sub-Chief Complaint Codes have been changed:

  • “SHOTS FIRED (heard only)” to “SHOTS FIRED (heard only) weapon”
  • “SHOTS FIRED (suspect seen)” to “SHOTS FIRED (suspect seen) weapon”
