LANGUAGE INFORMATION:
Case Entry
The Case Entry Rules section has been split into a Rules section and a Chief Complaint Selection Rules (CCSR) section. Several new and modified Rules have been added to the CCSR section to better assist Emergency Dispatchers in selecting the correct Chief Complaint.
Protocol 2: Allergies (Reactions)/Envenomations (Stings, Bites)
A new Determinant Code 2-A-3 “Asymptomatic allergic reaction complaint (no severe reaction history)” (STD Protocol only) / 2-O-3 “Asymptomatic allergic reaction complaint (no previous reaction history)” (OMG Protocol only) was introduced for asymptomatic patients that are worried about getting an allergic reaction.
Protocol P: Epinephrine
The Twinject injection pathway has been removed and replaced with instructions for the Auvi-Q® and Allerject® devices.
Protocol C: Airway/Arrest/Choking (Unconscious) and Protocol YC: Tracheostomy (Stoma) Airway/Arrest/Choking (Unconscious)
A new Pre-Arrival Instruction sequence was added to provide instructions for rolling prone patients over onto their backs. If the caller is unable to roll the patient over, instructions for doing CPR on the patient’s back are provided instead.
Case Entry
The Protocol 61 Sub-Chief Complaint “Fuel spill or leak” was removed.
Protocol 69: Structure Fire
On the DELTA pathway, when a Chimney fire is selected as a result of the Key Question "Did the caller indicate one of these incident types?" PDIs a, b, and f will now be displayed instead of just PDIs a and b.
Protocol 78: Backcountry Rescue
“What is your exact location/the exact location of the emergency?” has been split into “What is your exact location?” for 1st-party callers and “What is the exact location of the emergency?” for all other callers.
Protocol 131: Traffic Collision/Transportation Incident
On Determinant Codes 131-D-1 and 131-D-2, the suffixes E, V, W, and X have been enabled in order to qualify situations requiring EMS, Fire/Rescue, HAZMAT, or a combination. This will require agencies to update their Response Configuration.
Global
New PDI and DLS Links specifically for 3rd/4th parties have been added throughout the PPDS. All other PDIs will be grayed out for 3rd/4th party callers, unless an OMEGAeligible code is selected. If an OMEGA-eligible code is selected, ProQA will follow the OMEGA pathway instead.
Protocol 118: Fraud/Forgery
The Determinant Codes 118-C-1 "FRAUD (electronic means, mail, or phone)" and 118-C-2 "FORGERY (electronic means or mail)" are now OMEGA-eligible codes.
Supporting your Emergency Dispatchers and responders as they serve your community is our highest priority, which is why we remain committed to the continual evolution of each of our protocol disciplines and our software.
Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
International Academies of Emergency Dispatch and Priority Dispatch
