FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Salt Lake City, UT, USA ─ Priority Dispatch® is proud to partner with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) as an Ally in Action supporting the National Roadway Safety Strategy (NRSS) Call to Action campaign. This collaboration underscores Priority Dispatch’s commitment to reducing roadway fatalities and improving safety for all American drivers.
Priority Dispatch has implemented critical updates to its ProQA® calltaking software, ensuring that 911 dispatchers across the United States can provide enhanced Post-Dispatch Instructions (PDIs) to individuals involved in roadway incidents. These updates guide callers in moving their vehicles to a safe location following an initial crash, helping to reduce the risk of secondary crashes and improving the safety of first responders and others on the scene. These new protocols are developed by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED™), and they are exclusively available through ProQA as the only system licensed to use IAED protocols.
“Roadway safety is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to leveraging our expertise to support the goals of the NRSS,” said Chris Murdock, President of Priority Dispatch Corporation. “By incorporating these updated protocols into our systems, we’re ensuring that emergency dispatchers have the tools they need to guide callers effectively and safeguard everyone on the roadway.”
This partnership highlights Priority Dispatch’s dedication to innovation and collaboration in the pursuit of safer roadways. By aligning with the USDOT and other Allies in Action, Priority Dispatch is taking meaningful steps to advance the objectives of the NRSS by equipping every 911 dispatcher in thousands of agencies across the United States with these "Move Your Crash" instructions. We're committed to aligning with USDOT and other Allies in Action to help bring down the number of fatalities on US roadways year over year.

The National Roadway Safety Strategy (NRSS) is a comprehensive plan initiated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to address the critical issue of roadway fatalities and injuries across America. Focused on the Safe Systems Approach, the NRSS emphasizes shared responsibility among policymakers, industry leaders, and the public to create safer roadways. By implementing evidence-based strategies, fostering innovation, and promoting collaboration, the NRSS aims to reverse the crisis on America’s roads and achieve significant reductions in traffic-related deaths.
The IAED encourages all MPDS-user agencies to seek specific direction from their system medical director (or medical control authority) as to the manner and timing for using the Mpox screening tool contained in the Medical Priority Dispatch System. National, state, provincial, and local health departments are also useful sources of information on when and if any of these disease screening Tools are necessary for dispatch use.
