ProQA v5.1.1.50 Release

13 Jun. 2024

This initial ProQA v5.1.1.50 release, excluding Protocol 41 and all associated materials, is for users of all languages supported by the IAED.

In response to the alarming rise in mental health distress calls to 911 – specifically suicide calls – the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAED™) and Priority Dispatch® are pleased to announce the release of Protocol 41: Caller in Crisis (1st Party Only) with the ProQA® v5.1.1.50 Maintenance Release.

Dr. Clawson and former Fire Chief Brian Dale want to thank you for expressing your need for this protocol and assure you we’ve looked to the world’s experts and real data while developing this special, unique protocol and training. Read on for more information, and you can also download the Protocol 41: Caller in Crisis (1st Party Only) info sheet.

Protocol 41: Caller in Crisis (1st Party Only) and the accompanying specialized training were developed by the IAED to help manage the influx of suicide risk and ideation calls to emergency communication centers, while supporting and improving the mental well-being of Emergency Dispatchers themselves. This protocol and training are the first and only in the industry to address first-person callers with suicide risk and ideation.

Multiple Key Questions on this protocol are now Jurisdictionally Approved Questions, and a PDI has been changed to a Jurisdictionally Approved Instruction.
