ProQA v5.1.1.44 Maintenance Release

The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch® (IAEDTM) and Priority Dispatch® are pleased to release ProQA® v5.1.1.44 Maintenance Release with IAED protocol updates to Medical 13.3.326 (4/6/2022), Fire 7.1.192 (5/6/2022), and Police 6.4.132 (4/13/2022), as well as software enhancements. We'll walk you through some key changes below.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE INFORMATION:

This initial release is for English-only users, with a foreign language release to follow in two weeks. We recommend that bilingual agencies perform one update after foreign languages have been released to ensure full functionality in all supported languages.

MEDICAL 13.3.326 (4/6/2022) UPDATE

GLOBAL

• The Key Question “Is s/he completely alert (responding appropriately)?” has been changed to “Is s/he responding normally (completely alert)?”.

PROTOCOL 8: CARBON MONOXIDE/INHALATION/HAZMAT/CBRN

• The logic on the “Unconscious or Arrest” DLS link was adjusted to go to different panels depending upon whether the patient is contaminated or chemicals are nonthreatening.

PROTOCOL 15: ELECTROCUTION/LIGHTNING

• PDI-d was updated to "(Electrocution) Don't touch any people or anything that is touching the electrical hazard."

PROTOCOL 26: SICK PERSON (SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS)

• A new Determinant Code has been added: 26-C-5 “Acute adrenal insufficiency/crisis or Addison's disease,” with a new PDI, Rule, and Axiom.
• A new “MINOR hemorrhage” answer choice was added to the Key Question “Is s/he bleeding or vomiting blood?”, with a new Rule and Smart AI.

PROTOCOLS C & YC

• A new CEI has been added on Panels C-16 and YC-16, which expands Narcan instructions.

FIRE 7.1.192 (5/6/2022) UPDATE

GLOBAL

• For 3rd and 4th party callers, all PDIs will be grayed out except “The fire department is being sent. Stay on the line, and I'll tell you exactly what to do next.” Emergency Dispatchers will be led to a new Case Exit panel.

PROTOCOL 52: ALARMS

• A new Determinant Code has been added: 52-C-5 “MIXED-USE OCCUPANCY building,” with a corresponding Special Definition.

PROTOCOL 55: ELECTRICAL HAZARD

• This protocol has undergone extensive changes, including new and modified Determinant Codes, suffixes, Key Questions, and answer choices.

PROTOCOL 67: OUTSIDE/OTHER FIRES

• The protocol title was changed from “Outside Fire” to “Outside/Other Fires.”

PROTOCOL 69: STRUCTURE FIRE

• This protocol has undergone extensive changes, including new Key Question sequences for both ECHO and DELTA-level Determinant Codes and new suffixes added to ECHO.

POLICE 6.4.132 (4/13/2022) UPDATE

GLOBAL

• The Short Answer Text (SAT) and Long Answer Text (LAT) for the answer choice “No (but caller reports)" have been updated for the Key Question “Were any weapons involved?”.

PROTOCOL 121: MENTAL DISORDER (BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS)

• When a caller in crisis is able to pass the call over to a friend or family member, the Determinant Code 121-B-1 “Not violent” will now dispatch off of the Key Question “I need to get the person’s description...”.

PROTOCOL 123: MISSING/RUNAWAY/FOUND PERSON

• The Key Question “Are you at that location now?” and the blue user prompt “Ø Select the caller party” are no longer asked if the incident type is LOST PERSON (self-reporting).
